From the very beginning Ryalux carpets set itself apart from other manufacturers when in 1970, with a single tufting machine and a £600 investment William Lomas began producing ‘made to measure’ carpets. The ‘Pass’ machine as it became known, allowed William Lomas to produce high quality carpets in any size - a clear advantage over other manufacturers. Buying a Ryalux carpet therefore meant that the customer paid for only the carpet they used and lessened the need for unsightly seams.
